Staying overnight in Porotila (reindeer village) Toini Sanila not far from Norwegian border.

We were entering Finland by a local road an hour ago in the dark and customs officers got a bit interested. Had a short customs check and a
nice discussion about spending vacation in Lapland. :-) The officers liked Yippo and Ålle and the dogs liked the officers.

Norwegian pilsner Mack brewed in Tromsø we bought in Kirkenes is quite OK. It's coming to it's end...

Update: Ночуем на оленьей ферме Toini Sanila недалеко от норвежской границы. Границу пересекли с час назад в полной темноте. На границе были встречены заинтересовавшимися ночными путниками таможенниками. Поимели недолгий таможенный досмотр и беседу об отпуске в Лапландии. :-) Таможенникам очень понравились собаки, причем взаимно.

Норвежское пиво Mack из Tromsø вполне ничего себе.

How cold is it at this time of the year? Any rain yet?

It depends, I guess. In our trip it was from +4 at night to +12 in the afternoon. Couple of days it was raining cats and dogs, rest of the time raining from time to time. It's all luck.

Кстати, половина нашей компании была экипирована так, что вполне могла бы выжить (и даже получить некоторое удовольствие) при температуре до -30^oC. Вторая половина компании верила, что такой погоды не случится. Так оно и оказалось. :))
