kinuskiI forgot to ask from car rental what is the speed limit on the only highway on the island and how police cars look like. However, the journey from Chania airport to Agios Nikolaos was nice. We saw only 6 police cars and they didn't care about speedy drivers at all.
I just was driving like others...
Update: Забыл спросить в прокатной конторе про ограничение скорости на единственном хайвее на острове (называется New National Road - Новое Национальное Шоссе) и про то, как выглядят полицейские машины. Однако, от Ханья до Агиос Николаос доехали без приключений - ехали как все. Видели шесть полицейских машин, скорость их совершенно не волновала.

The same applies to the smaller and less busy mountain roads but there you can choose the appropriate speed yourself just to feel safe enough.
