Saw a girl and a woman in a local train. They were talking English with recognazible Finnish accent to each other. Both had small city-style backpacks and portable cages with cats inside.
Finnish and Esthonian seem to be the most reasonable version. The distance between the languages is not less than eg between Russian & Polish; and I saw many times Southern Esthonians (where one cannot study Finnish so easily as in Räval with its Finnish TV broadcasting and crowds of drunken sailors) speaking with Finns in English. There was a possibly more remarkable incident when I saw two girls talking Russian with a kind of recognizable Finnish accent to each other.
